CINS 101 -- Introduction to Computers

Course Description: 
    Introduction to Computers is a 3 credit course that serves as the pre-requisite for most CINS higher level courses AND meets the General Education requirement for Information Literacy/Technology.
    Introduction to Computers is a survey of the fields of computers, data processing, and information technology.  Computers are studied to familiarize students with the theoretical and applied principles of hardware and software.  Computer laboratory sessions will introduce students to a variety of software packages that will include word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, communications, and database management functions.   
 
 
Prerequisites:  
    Students wishing to take this course should have taken RDNG 051 and ENGL 051 or have achieved at least Reading Level 1 and English Level 1 on the College reading and English assessment tests.  If you have any questions concerning your qualifications for taking this course, please contact the instructor
