Your Instructor: Mary Anne Newkirk

In her 15-year training career, Mary Anne Newkirk has delivered dynamic, interactive training sessions with over 5,000 people from a variety of technical and professional backgrounds at all hierarchical levels. She specializes in supervisory and management training, team skills training, group facilitation, customer focus skills, and time and stress management. An experienced facilitator, she has worked with boards of directors and a team that completed an organizational assessment of strategic planning using the Baldrige criteria. Ms Newkirk is also an accomplished instructional designer. She has developed documentation in highly technical subjects for leader-led and on-line training. Her client list includes Federal, state and local government agencies, Fortune 500 corporations and non-profit organizations.

Ms. Newkirk spent the first 18 years of her professional career at a large Federal agency in technical, supervisory and training/consulting positions. A certified administrator of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, she holds an M.S. degree in Applied Behavioral Science from Johns Hopkins University. A training activity she co-authored was published in the 1999 Pfeiffer Annual.

Ms. Newkirk's mission is to deliver training that transfers back to the workplace. Practice opportunities, action plans and follow-up sessions are built into all workshops Ms. Newkirk delivers to ensure that participants maximize the value of the time they spend in training and build bridges to apply what they have learned in their jobs.
