My Home Theater

Approximately two years ago I got interested in the newly emerging DVD format and soon started pursuing the dream of owing a home theater system with as many of the bells and whistles as I could afford. I have always enjoyed movies and unlike many others I know, I can watch a movie numerous times before growing truly bored with it. I will often play a movie I know well for background noise when working at home. I will stop working at the assorted interesting spots in the movie and watch just those. I have found that this can help pace my work and I actually end up getting more done. The introduction of DVDs finally provided me with the ability to develop a large collection and watch movies without wearing them out (a problem I had encountered with VHS tapes) and the sound was spectacular if one invested in the proper equipment. I rapidly learned that watching movies at home was much better than at most theaters. At a theater, the movie is almost always played too loud, the crowd is often a pain in the ass, and one cannot stop to go to the bathroom or get food/treats without missing something. With all these advantages in mind I have slowly built a respectable Home Theater and DVD collection. Having invested the time and effort into building this system I decided to assemble this web page to show off what I have to those who might be interested. For a collection of links where one can find assistance in constructing their own Home Theater, you are directed to my separate page of fun links.
