Observe: Choose a location related to your research question and spendf a few hours there observing and taking notes. Remember these notes are for you -- they will most likely form the basis for the FRAME of your final essay. No detail is too small or too specific.

Workshop: Complete the Writer Response for your own essay. In addition, fill out a Reader Response for each member of your group.
Observation: Go outside and observe a scene for ten minutes, taking as many notes as possible. Try to really discover the elements of the scene.
