Come to Mr. Kizzier's office at the time you signed up to record your voiceover.
W 4/25 - Digital Story Script
Submit: Bring a hard copy of your digital story script -- 300 words or less about your experience doing the Immersion Project. It's not a straight summary, but a story about you and this experience. Also, bring a flash drive with your images from your observations on it.
W 4/18 - First Draft Immersion Project
Submit: Bring a hard copy and electronic version of six-page Immersion Project. Include Works Cited page and MLA citations.
W 4/11 - Goon Squad/Interview Essay
Submit: Bring hard copy and electronic version of Interview Essay 3.
Workshop: Complete Writer Response for yourself, and then Reader Response for group members.
Read: Finish Goon Squad
Blog: Why do you think Goon Squad is structured the way it is? Which story resonated most with you? Why? Which character resonated most? Why?

Submit: 3 pages of observation notes

Read: Never Let Me Go 156-end; "Kobe Bryant Doesn't Want Your Love"
Submit: 1. bring your interview questions for four possible interviewees -- 4 general questions you can use with each interview, and 6 specific questions for each interviewee. Let your questions reflect your research.
2. bring your summaries of four (4) supplemental sources. These sources should all be from reputable sources.
Blog: How is the world of Never Let Me Go revealed? How does the novel differ from Oryx and Crake? How are they similar?
W 3/7 - Never Let Me Go/Observation Essay
Read: Never Let Me Go 3-155
Workshop: bring 1 hard copy and an electronic version of your "Observation" essay. Complete the Writer Response before class and submit it with your draft. Then read your groupmates' essays and answer the Reader Response.
Blog: Revise your introduction form the "What I Know" essay and outline your essay using that intro to establish a FRAME.
W 2/29 - Gattaca
Read: "Consider the Lobster" (handout)
Observe: Choose a location related to your research question and plan to spend a few hours there observing. Take copious notes, and submit at least three pages of those in class. These can be hand written. Remember that these notes are for you. It is likely they will form the basis of the FRAME of your final essay.
W 2/22 - Oryx (cont)
Read: Oryx and Crake (241-end);
Workshop: bring 1 hard copy and an electronic version of your "What I Know" essay. Make sure that you have included two different introductory paragraphs -- both from the effective list. In class, complete the Writer Response and the Reader Response for workshop.
Blog: What change in his character does Snowman/Jimmy undergo in the novel? What issues for our own society are raised by the novel? Provide a link to a news article from a reputable source related to one of these topics, and give a brief summary (<5 sentences) of mthe article followed by a response.

Read: Oryx and Crake (113-238); "Susie Bayer's T-shirt", Intros
Submit: Research Question - typed/blog
Blog: O&C How is the world of O&C revealed? Give examples. How is Snowman/Jimmy's character revealed? Susie Bayer: Outline the structure of the essay, and discuss the way that structure (or FRAME) contributes to the main idea or point of the essay.
W 2/8 - Oryx and Immersion Topics
Read: Oryx and Crake (1-110)
Blog: List five possible Immersion topics/questions that come from your reading.
W 2/1 - Intro to Course
Icebreaker/Writing Sample: Write a brief narrative essay about your name. Then present it to the class.
