submit this assignment earlier; please see me if you need an extension. Save this proposal electronically.
Total project will be
worth 50 points, and your report will be due on the last day of class,
December 9, 2005.
Submit a proposal for a project.
Do NOT start the project until the proposal is
approved.
1) State the (research) question or questions you want answered.

2) Specify how you will collect data to answer the
question(s). Be specific.
Develop
a worksheet or spreadsheet so that all persons in your group collect data the
same way and submit the worksheets.
3) Detail what
variables you will use in your study.
Guidelines: Categorical data – I expect a minimum of 30 observations from
each person.
Measurement data – I expect
about 5-10 observations from each person.
You will need to do a comparison, e.g. males and
females.

PowerPoint presentation.

You will be giving a short (< 5 minute) description of your project
to the class on the last day of class.
(There may be visitors present.)
Submit the project on this day,
12/9/05. The following are the minimum
requirements. If you add additional
information or add additional statistical tests, your grade will be higher.
Include
1) research question (i.e. project proposal)
2) statement of your targeted population (State why you
believe your sample is representative of your population.)
3) how you obtained the data (include details)
4) analyses
You must include a graph (can be a pie chart) and descriptive statistics,
at
least one confidence interval,
and
at least one hypothesis test.
5) conclusions, i.e. answer(s) to the research question
You must include enough
information so that I can verify your statistical calculations.
6) what you learned, and what you would do differently. The project is a learning experience!!!!!
