The Tiger Swallowtail butterfly (Papilio sp.) is a common and widespread species. It is easily seen due to its large size and bright color. Note the long black tail on the right rear wing. The left tail is missing on this specimen. A small amount of red and blue color is also present It is shown here on a yellow flowered butterfly bush. Butterfly bushes are one of a variety of plants which attract butterflies. They work. Try them! |
