I am very interested in the World Wide Web and its use in teaching and advancement of learning. I am currently developing several Microsoft Windows- based word processing softwares in my native language Bengali. I was from 2000 to 2002 also the web coordinator for our Greater Baltimore area Bengali organization Prantik. From 2002 to 2003 I was the editor of the newsletter Purbasha for Prantik. From 2004 to 2005 I was the Secretary of the organization. From 2012 to 2014 I was the Joint Treasurer and currently also help in the publication of the annual "Sharadiya Sankhya" and do other works for Prantik.
For the last forty years I have been a member of The Planetary Society .
From 1992 to 2006 I organized and conducted a mathematics competition here at the Catonsville campus of the Community
College of Baltimore County (CCBC) with cash prizes. This
Catonsville Mathematics Competition (renamed CCBC Math Contest) was open to all high school students
(juniors and seniors only) and undergraduates (less than 60 credits earned) in the Central Maryland area.
At present I am organizing (with others) the CCBC Math Competition and the Mathematics Seminars.
For the last four years I have been a member of the t-STEM committee for Mathematics curricular alignment working with members for UMBC and other community colleges.
I am also strongly involved in the Math Center run by the CCBC-Catonsville Mathematics department.
