The
Springfield College Writing Studio, like many other studios, is meant
to support students as they complete the required first year writing
component work. Students are recommended to enroll in studio on the
basis of directed self placement and writing samples, and meet once a
week for one hour in groups of 4-5 with a writing faculty member.
Students earn one credit for this course which counts as an elective.
The primary goal of Writing Studio is to help students succeed in their
first year writing course. Students complete work assigned by the
Studio faculty member and work on drafts of papers they will submit for
the FYC course. The Springfield College Writing Studio program has been
in existence for ten years.
