You need to know the following for test 1 (note:  only a few examples are given, this is NOT an inclusive review.  Study quizzes, homework, inclass examples.

· Chapter 6

1. Form a composite function (6.1)  page 500 7, 11, 12

2. Domain of a composite (6.1) page 500 7, 11, 12

3. Is a function one-to-one (6.2) page 501 17, 19, 21 (is it one-to-one only)

4. Verify that two functions are inverses of each other by composite functions (6.2) page 422 31-39 odd

5. Solving Logarithmic and exponential equations.  Page 467 5, 7, 15, 17, 33, 35, 37, 39

· Chapter 7

1. Convert radians to degrees and vice versa (7.1).

2. How to draw an angle. (7.1)

3. You need to know trig. definitions for acute angle in a right triangle (7.2)

4. Know the fundamental identities  (bottom of page 524)  (7.2)

5. Given one trig. function value find the others (7.2)

6. Complementary angle theorem (7.2)

7. Know the exact value of the trig. functions for the angles 30, 45, 60. (7.3)

8. Right triangle applications (7.3)

9. Know the trig. def. for any angle including quadrantal angles(7.4)

10. Coterminal angles (7.4)

11. Reference angles (7.4)

12. Given a point on terminal side of angle find the trig. function values.

13. Given one trig. function value of any angle, find the others (you have to know where the angle is)
