Sun Certification For Java
Certification Overview
- Sun offers tests for certification in Java on three levels: Programmer, Developer and Architect
- While the Architect certification may be taken independently of the other two tests, people must first pass the Programmer level test to sit for the Developer level certification. The rest of this report focuses on the programmer certification process.
- Certification is for a specific Java product and is not transferable in any way. People certified on Java 1.1 must sit for certification on Java 2.0 (aka java 1.2). Therefore, most authors recommend Java 2 certification at this time.
