1.5 Rated Films

Easy Listening: I
saw this independent film at the Maryland Film Festival. The story
involves a want-to-be jazz trumpeter who meets a happy-go-lucky flutist
in a symphony orchestra during 1967. The budget of this film was
probably not very large and the movie showed its inadequecies. (5/4/02)

Hannibal: This
is one of the more disappointing films I have seen. This sequel to "The
Silence of the Lambs" has the acting, but lacks the writing, plot, and
energy of the first film. There are a couple of horrific visuals
in this film, and, simply put, this movie is not interesting. (2/10/01)
-
The Grinch: Jim
Carrey is the only highlight in this Dr. Seuss' inspired story. This
film is definitely Ron Howard's directorial low. If you love Carrey,
the movie is average; if you hate Carrey, the movie is horrible.

Legend of Bagger Vance: Will
Smith, Matt Damon, and Cherlize Theron star in this Robert Redford golf
film. These 4 big names can't help this weak story. If you
really want to see a golf movie, go rent "Tin Cup" or "Caddyshack".
