John Q: Denzel
Washington stars as a man that will do anything to get his son (who needs
a heart transplant) on the donor's list. Washington does his normal
good job and the supporting cast, though over the top, do the job.
This is one of this film that is not great, but it is crowd-pleasing and
entertaining. Rating 3
out of 4. (2/16/02)

Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back: Jason
Mewes and Kevin Smith star as the dynamic comic duo from the 4 previous
Kevin Smith-directed films. I really like these characters, but I
found out I can only take them in limited doses (a 90 minute dose is too
much). The inside jokes are hit and miss and the spoofs are average.

Josie and the Pussycats: This
film is based on the comic book and cartoon from the 1970's; I am a fan
of the cartoon. This film is not a nostalgic film, it is a stupid
movie that uses the "Josie and the Pussycats" characters in a ridiculous
teen-oriented plot. Everyone knows you can't have a "Josie" movie
without a group chase scene; this movie doesn't have one, inconceivable.
