How To Be Successful In Math Class

 
1.  EXHIBIT GOOD BEHAVIOR. Be courteous and respectful of your peers
and teacher.

2.  BE PREPARED AND ORGANIZED. Come to class each day with the following items:

3.  BE ON TIME. BE SEATED QUICKLY AND SILENTLY.
Copy the homework assignment into your  assignment book.
Place your covered textbook on your desk.
Place your calculator on top of your homework.
Begin your drill.

4.  BE INVOLVED. Remember to raise your hand and wait to be called on.

5.  DO YOUR HOMEWORK !!!!!!!!!!
 

NOTEBOOK

1.  Begin each day's work on a new piece of paper with a title and full
     heading.
2.  Write Drill on the first line and then do it.
3.  Classwork goes under the drill. Copy all notes from the board.
4.  Homework goes after classwork.
 
 

IF YOU ARE ABSENT

1. It is your responsibility to make up missed work.  Check with a
    classmate to find out what needs to be done.

2.  Make up your work promptly. A one day grace period is extended for
    each day that you were absent.

3.  You may copy drills and notes from a reliable classmate.

4.  Homework assignments are found on the homework assignment board in the classroom. You may also find
    them listed on the internet on Mrs. Vaccaro's Mathematics Webpage. The address is kickme.to/Vaccaro.
   
 

GRADING POLICY

CLASSWORK: (60%)
       This includes class assignments, graded classwork, and graded drills.

TESTS:  (30%)
          QUIZZES
          CHAPTER TESTS
          CUMULATIVE QUARTERLY TESTS
          CUMULATIVE FINAL EXAM

HOMEWORK:  (10%)
        Work must be shown to receive credit. All problems must be attempted
         to receive credit.
 

 

COACH CLASS

Coach class will be held on Tuesdays from 2:30-3:30. You need to bring a note to school at least one day prior to the coach class you would like to attend. Students must be seated and have examples of types of problems which are causing them difficulty. Students must exhibit proper behavior and effort in order to come to coach class. You need to have made prior arrangements to be picked up promptly at 3:30. Help may also be scheduled on an individual basis with your math teacher.
